» Sep, 2000 – Oct, 2001 AT&T Broadband, Denver, CO

Worked as Lead Systems Engineer, Technical Architect, Web Development, Test Lead, Tools Development, Technical Rapid Response Team Lead.

Web-Based Project Issues Tracking System (WITS). A Web-Based Issues Tacking System for AT&T Broadband Provisioning and Third Party Interface Systems. The application was developed 100% with open-source software, which included Linux SuSE 7.2, Apache 1.3.19 Web Server, PostgresSQL Database, Perl, DBI and Dynamic HTML (HTML::Template).

WITS allowed AT&T Broadband and its vendors to exchange issue information via the web and browser, which continually provided current status to all parties, including management.

The choice to develop WITS with open-source saved AT&T Broadband considerable money, and allow the application to be deployed in weeks rather than 6 to 9 months. The only software cost for WITS was $70 for SuSE 7.2 Linux.

Lucent 5ESS Switch Data Filter System. Participated as Requirements Team member, Lead Systems Engineer and Test Team Lead on this project, where the objective was to provide switch-specific filtered data from 11-Lucent 5ESS Switches to 5-downstream AT&T Broadband End-User Billing Systems, in accordance with current business rules. The selected Vendor for this work was AT&T’s BILLDATS / RICS System. To implement this project, comprehensive requirements were developed, a design review was help, and end-to-end testing was performed on the delivered environment. Work was completed on time and on budget.

AMA Test Tool for Data Repair. Developed a set of Perl tools for the Data Center to repair damaged AMA files generated by Lucent 5ESS Switches. The tools converted binary data to ASCII format for manual editing, and re-assemble ASCII data to binary format. The same tools were used to create data files for application testing.

Mission-Critical Third Party Verification FTP & Web Site for Business Operations. Developed a Web Site for Business Operations to handle rejected new accounts, thus help reduce slamming fines from the FCC. Daily functionality of the Web Server is to automatically retrieve hourly transaction files from an FTP Server, transport data to a date-specific web server directory, and provide custom reporting by Regional Business Operations Unit.

Web-Based Test Tracking Tool (WBT3). A Web-Based Requirements and Defect Management Application. WBT3 functionality includes the ability to Enter / edit requirements, Enter / edit test results; Enter a block of test results; Browse Test Cases; Auto-scrolling to next test case; Requirements reporting by selected categories; Test reporting by selected categories; Report sorting by column headings; Downloadable tab-delimited requirements file; Multiple projects; Test Result emailing; Projects List Report; Login Security; User-level access control; Project Group control; Project Status Report; On-line documentation and easily expandable and maintainable. WBT3 was developed in Perl & dynamic HTML.

Moet. A web-based tool for creating EMI Telephone Billing test data files. The tool gives Test Team personnel the ability to create data for testing specific billing functionality.

Moat. A web-based tool for creating AMA Telephone Billing test data files. The tool gives Test Team personnel the ability to create data for testing specific billing functionality.

Environment. All tools and applications were developed using open-source products. All tools and/or applications can be deployed on most UNIX and Linux environments.
