MySQL-Bounced Email Tool. This script reads a pre-defined bounced mail file and gathers email addresses that have bounced back to the mail server. The script writes email addresses to a text file, and deletes the records from a MySQL database. It also sends an admin email notice. It can easily be modified to update rather than delete records in the database. See on Perlsources.com.

Web-Based Appointment System. An appointment application system for a Mortgage company. The system allows multiple offices to schedule & manage seminar appointments on a central data center server. The application was developed using Perl, DBI, HTML-Template and Postgres SQL database.

Double Opt-In Email Registration System. Application for web email registration. This application uses a Postgres database for storing information. The double opt-in functionality requires users to confirm their registration (via received email) before the registration is activated, thus preventing spam email registrations. The application was developed using Perl, DBI, HTML-Template and Postgres SQL database.

Universal Form Processing Utility. A universal script for processing web form data. The script was developed using Perl and HTML-Template. It can be used most anywhere web data needs to be processed. No Perl knowledge is required to use this script.

File Upload Utility. A webserver-based utility for uploading local files to a remote server. This utility can easily be retrofitted to work inside many existing data processing applications. This utility is used at the University of Colorado-Boulder. The application was developed using Perl and HTML-Template.

Catalog System. A webserver-based catalog system interfaced with Postgres SQL database. It was initially developed for use as a "General purpose Web Catalog". Application was developed using Perl, DBI, HTML-Template and Postgres SQL database; and can be interfaced to a credit card processing gateway.

Credit Card Interface System. An open-source credit card processing interface for catalog and custom web sales. This interface is SSL compliant, and works with a Verisign gateway. The application was developed using Perl, DBI, HTML-Template, OpenSSL and Postgres SQL database.

Message Board System. This Support System - Message Board grew out of frustration to find a simple message board with a database interface. This one is far from the best one, but it works and is simple. It can easily be modified for new functionality and reporting. The application was developed using Perl, DBI, HTML-Template and Postgres SQL database.

Automated Database Backup Utility. A cron-based utility for periodically extracting data from a Postgres database on production webserver. The utility was developed in Perl.

Bulk Email Application. A cron-based application for processing hundreds of thousands of emails per day. The application works from a MySQL database. The same application can be deployed on multiple email servers running against a single database server. With very few modifications, it can work with Postgres. The application was developed in Perl and DBI with an interface to MySQL database.

Bounced Email Utility. A cron-based utility for reading and processing bounced emails. The utility marks or deletes bad email addresses from a MySQL database server. The utility was developed in Perl and DBI with a interface to MysQL database.

FTP Backup Utilities. A cron-based FTP tool for automated downloads of remote files. This utility is ideal for systematically copying data from a production server to an off-site location. The tool was developed in Perl.

Environment. All utilities, tools and applications were developed using open-source.
